Artist's statement:
The painting process and the finished painting are both a celebration of life. The artist explores the world, its beauty, a face, a moment in time by making decisions on composition, harmony, values, colors and brush stokes. A successful painting brings emotions in both the artist and the observer.It is exciting when the sessions are difficult and troubling when the going is easy.
Background and education:
I have been interested in the fine arts for a long time. I studied at Santa Monica City College,Harbor College and Scottsdale Artist School. I have taken numerous workshops with the PAPA painters. For the last five years and up to the present I have been studying with Jove Wang. I like the joy and challenges of Plein Air painting. This way I can combine my love of the outdoor with my passion for painting. My smaller paintings are done on location. My goal is to bring the outdoor mood and temperature of a beautiful place for someone to view or to enjoy in their own home.
