ARTIST STATEMENT:
Margaret Mohr is an experienced commercial artist who has turned to fine art combined with calligraphy as a way of expressing her spiritual convictions. "The beautiful things in the world of nature which nourish our souls and bodies are not here by accident, but are blessings from a loving God" says Mohr.
A Commercial Art major at Santa Monica City College, UCLA and Art Center College of Design, she began her career by inking Hanna-Barbera comics. In years following she designed bedding, toys and clothing for several large companies, and as a freelance florist created arrangements for hundreds of weddings.
She was the recipient of the 1999 Artist of the Year award from the City of Rolling Hills Estates, and in 2001 was commissioned by the City of Palos Verdes Estates to do paintings for 2 publications.
